Many questions in the group arose about places to stay and various hostels, my warm recommendation is to search through "hostelworld"
This site closed many corners for me during my wanderings in South and Central America and then also in South Africa.

If there is a hostel that is more parties and messes - they will immediately mention it even in the title and you will know to choose or avoid depending on what you are looking for.
Hostels are great for those looking to meet people, go to attractions and activity centers in the city, many of the hostels give really good guidance about fun things and ways to get to know the city and other travelers.
There is also the big and well-known booking site, but for those looking for a fun atmosphere and places that are open to single travelers - then hostelworld is the address.
For those who are still interested in a private room and less in dorms, then even in hostels you can find stunning and clean rooms at good prices... and then you have the option to go out into the common spaces and meet travelers from all over the world.
For those who claim that the hostel is only for young people, then absolutely not! I met countless older people in hostels and very interesting to talk to!
And for everyone who still prefers hotels, it's also fun!
